Army Chief Gen Manoj Pande on Wednesday highlighted the lessons learnt by Indian forces from the Russia-Ukraine conflict including the incidents like the sinking of Russian warships by Ukrainian anti-ship missiles. "The sinking of Moskva, with likely use of anti-ship cruise missiles, highlights that even in the maritime domain, weapon platforms are more vulnerable than ever to low-cost defensive systems," said the Army Chief. 2 Women Arrested With Drugs Worth Rs 60 Lakh In Mizoram: Cops

Foiling a smuggling bid, Assam Rifles recovered heroin worth Rs 60 lakh from Aizawl and apprehended two women. Based on specific information, Assam Rifles carried out a joint operation with Special Narcotics Police Station CID (Crime), Aizawl in Sateek area on Monday. During the operation, nine soap cases (120 gm) of heroin (No 04) worth Rs 60 lakh. Amon the two apprehended women, one is a Myanmarese national, said Assam Rifles. The recovered consignment and apprehended persons were handed over to Special Narcotics Police Station CID (Crime), Aizawl for further legal proceedings. The investigation is underway. Strong tremors jolted parts of north India sending shock waves across Delhi-NCR at 10.17pm on Tuesday as an earthquake of magnitude 6.6 struck the Hindu Kush region in Afghanistan. The tremors lasting about 30 seconds forced panic-stricken people to rush out of buildings and take refuge in open areas as fears of a “big earthquake” hitting the Indian Himalayan region, as forecast by experts, were revived. India, Bhutan Celebrate 'Festival Of Friendship' In Arunachal Pradesh

The Gorsam Kora festival, widely viewed as the festival of friendship between India and Bhutan, was celebrated at the Gorsam Chorten Stupa in Arunachal Pradesh's Zemithang. Zemithang is a village in the Tawang district and is the last administrative division of India on the border with Tibet. It shares its western border with Bhutan. This is also the place where the 14th Dalai Lama had his first rest after fleeing from Tibet in 1959.  Cultural dances were performed by locals. The historic Gorsam Kora festival, which showcases the rich cultural and religious heritage of the region, draws pilgrims from both India and Bhutan. The three-day festival started on March 18 and ended on Tuesday. The 93-foot high Gorsam Chorten Stupa was built in the 13th century AD and is modeled after the Boudhanath Khasti Stupa of Nepal. Public Doesnt Have Right To Be Heard Before Policy Decision Formulated: Court

The Supreme Court on Tuesday said the public at large does not have the right to be heard before a policy is formulated and implemented but the process of consultation may be desirable and would facilitate a participatory democracy. A bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice Hima Kohli made the observation in a verdict on a plea challenging a decision of the Centre, which on the recommendation of the Odisha government, had abolished the Orissa Administrative Tribunal (OAT). The bench rejected an argument of the Orissa Administrative Tribunal Bar Association that the principles of natural justice have been violated by the Centre and the state government by failing to provide the association and the litigants before the OAT with an opportunity to be heard before abolishing the tribunal.
