In view of the upcoming G20 Summit, Delhi Police gave training to its newly recruited commandos on 'helicopter slithering' at Delhi Police Academy in Jharoda Kalan, officials said on Tuesday. The training, which is a first of its kind by the police, was given to 55 male, 25 female and 15 SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) unit commandos, they said. The aim of the training is to ready the commandos for any potential evacuation during disasters or any terrorist incidents, police said, adding that the exercise was conducted using an M-17 Helicopter. A 30-year-old man was sentenced to 25 years in jail by a special court in Assam's Hailakandi district for kidnapping and forcibly marrying a 13-year-old girl. Special judge Sanjay Hazarika sentenced the man to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment after convicting him under the POCSO Act, and an additional five years under IPC Section 366 for kidnapping her and forcibly marrying her. He was also directed by the judge to pay Rs 10,000 each in both cases, and if he fails to do so, he will get an additional year in jail. The case was heard by a fast-track court, which completed the hearing and gave the verdict in one year and four months, on Saturday. A delivery person of an e-commerce firm was injured after falling from the third-floor of a building in Hyderabad when he tried to evade the customer's barking dog, police said. The incident took place in an apartment at Manikonda on Sunday when the delivery executive, aged 30, went there to deliver a mattress and the dog started barking at the customer's door, which was reportedly partly open, they said. Afraid of being attacked, the man ran for safety and climbed a railing but slipped and fell on the ground from there, police said, adding that the customer and some others got him admitted to a hospital and his condition is said to be out of danger.
